Overview
At the beginning of 2022, I joined NTB Solutions, a software development company specializing in technological solutions for businesses across various sectors, primarily Healthcare and Biometrics. At that time, there was no UX/UI team, so my teammate and I established the company’s first user-centered design department.
After completing our first project for the company—a mobile app for APROSS affiliates, the Provincial Health Insurance Administration of Córdoba, Argentina—we were entrusted with designing a comprehensive platform for doctors, auditors, and providers to efficiently manage patient information. This is how the Escritorio Médico Digital (EMD) was born.
The EMD
This project spanned two years and evolved continuously, adapting month by month. The working methodology did not follow a traditional approach, as we lacked the resources and time to test each functionality with real users. Instead, we carried out iterations based on feedback received through the help desk, optimizing the EMD according to user-reported needs.

Electronic Prescription: A Key Innovation
One of the most transformative additions to the EMD was the Electronic Prescription, designed to streamline the prescribing and dispensing of medications, improving the experience for both doctors and patients.

Conclusions
Working on a project of this scale, with provincial reach and a tangible impact on the lives and health of thousands of affiliates, was both a complex and enriching challenge. The development of the Escritorio Médico Digital was not just about creating a robust platform—it also required coordinating multiple stakeholders, each with their own dynamics and needs.
As the UX/UI designer for the EMD, this experience was invaluable. Being part of such a diverse interdisciplinary team—including stakeholders, project managers, technical analysts, help desk specialists, and developers—allowed me to deepen my understanding of complex processes and adapt the design to real operational scenarios. This collaborative work was key to building a functional, efficient platform aligned with the healthcare system’s needs.
